Understanding ACA Feedback Rules

The Airman Comprehensive Assessment (ACA) is the official process for providing feedback to Air Force members. Requirements and timelines are strictly dictated by AFI 36-2406, Officer and Enlisted Evaluation Systems.

Initial Feedback Calculator

Must be completed within 60 days of when supervision began. This sets the baseline expectations, standards, and goals for the ratee for the upcoming rating period.

Midterm Feedback Calculator

Must be completed midway between the date supervision began and the projected SCOD of the evaluation. Note: For CMSgts, Colonels, and Lt Cols, midterms are typically only required if requested by the ratee.

End of Reporting Period (EOR) / Follow-up

Completed in conjunction with the close-out of the evaluation. It occurs when the final evaluation is presented to the member, typically within 60 days following the SCOD.

Minimum Supervision

There is no minimum number of days of supervision required to prepare an evaluation. A rater can submit an evaluation with as little as 1 day of supervision. However, if a member has been supervised for less than 120 days at a new unit, the previous unit may still be responsible for the evaluation based on the accounting date.

First EPB Timing (SrA & Below)

Active-duty Airmen typically receive their first Enlisted Performance Brief (EPB) upon reaching their first 31 March SCOD after promoting to Senior Airman (SrA), OR after completing 36 months of Time-In-Service (TIS), whichever comes first.
